November 11th is observed as the Nation Education Day all over India as it is the birthday of our first Education Minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

Abul Kalam Azad is commonly known as, ‘A Man of Letters’, as he wrote many letters with Pen Name as ‘Azad’, and with his writings, he aimed to promote nationalism in Muslim community, and struggled to unite both Hindu and Muslim communities.

Azad composed many Urdu poetry aiming to get Muslims involved in the freedom struggle. All his works targeted and criticized the British Rule and implored many to take part in the freedom struggle.

At the age of 35, he proved his political ability when he was nominated as the President of the Indian National Congress.

He was the first person to oppose the partition of India and Pakistan and always dreamt of one unified nation.
